In 1688, the Reverend John Wise led a little-remembered rebellion against the Dominion of New England, a super-colony comprised of eight American colonies. As the Americans rise to fight for self-government, this pivotal movement serves as a forerunner of the American Revolution nearly 90 years later. Meanwhile, a similar "Glorious Revolution" is taking place across the ocean in Great Britain, leading to a Declaration of Rights that will influence the American Declaration in 1776.
