Shayde Whisper was duped by Eve, Eldon, and the Black Orchid gang and is magically bonded to them. The voice in her head reveals her newfound destiny. She was chosen to save Athea with red magic and intense strength...but how can she wield what she can't control?  

As they're finding a way to escape Lightspring Canyon, Eve splits Shayde Whisper and Eldon Redwood up and forces Shayde to fight in an underground gambling ring. Scrambling, emotionally compromised, and under stress, Shayde unfortunately falls short.

Shayde Whisper and Eldon Redwood's plans to flee Lightspring Canyon go awry when they entangle Lightspring guards, resulting in an all-out gang war and the appearance of familiar comrades from the past. Swept into the harrowing waves of the Glass Sea, Shayde Whisper and Juniper Meadows face a growing tension when they are confronted by an even bigger problem… a leviathan-sized problem! Before being sucked into the beast's hurricane, Shayde desperately looks to the Voice for help and instantly regrets it.

As the nightmares of our protagonist worsen, so does her denial. Life is as good as it gets for Shayde Whisper, but her refusal to move on from life at sea suddenly crumbles when fate steps in… showing her that she may not have a choice but to move forward.
