High school freshman Ranko Haruno's sole desire in life is to keep her head down and just get by with as little human interaction as possible. It's working well, until a random guy is literally hurled into her path (and knocked out when his head hits the wall). The responsible party? A guy she later finds out is her new stepbrother, Kaya Amamine...How exactly is she supposed to live with such a creepy jerk who seemingly has a penchant for violence?!

This boy is gonna be the death of her. Like, seriously. For real, they already live together, but now he wants to go to her school too...?! Ranko's juuuust a tad worried that he's obsessing a bit too much-after all, liking someone because they're nice is one thing, liking someone because they're them is a whole 'nother story. Still, she finds him slightly endearing, so despite the monster lurking behind his eyes, she just can't leave him be...

Oh-kaaay... So given the way Kaya's been acting lately, it's been getting harder and harder to put her foot down and deny that this thing between them is only a family thing. Which means the proper course of action would be to create some distance between them, yet Ranko just can't leave him alone! Meanwhile, Nasu starts breaking into Ranko's world little by little, but she has no idea what to do with the attentions of such a nice, friendly guy...

How dare Mr. Refreshing try to take Ranko away! After Nasu's surprise admission, Kaya's feeling more jealous and possessive about his Ran-chan than ever! And while Ranko might tend to indulge the whims of her little monster, even she has a limit to how much crap she'll put up with from him.
