Even though Sasaki's droll corporate life is constantly filled with work, it leaves him tired and unfulfilled at the end of every day. In search of some companionship to fill the emptiness in his life, he visits a pet shop on a whim, not realizing he's about to change his life forever. After settling on an adorable bird and bringing it home...his new roommate reveals that it's actually an incredible sage from another world who promptly bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers as well as the ability to cross between worlds. All Sasaki wants to do is use these newfound powers to live in peace and comfort, but there are more than a few colorful characters who might get in the way of that...

Sasaki's pet bird (and otherworld sage) Peeps has bestowed him with powerful magic and the ability to cross between worlds, all in order to game the system and live the good life. But due to unforeseen circumstances on both sides, things are not going as planned. Sasaki's job as a government psychic is not all it's cracked up to be, and with a magical girl out for blood, a neighbor giving into dark temptations, and a former enemy changing sides, Sasaki and Peeps are looking at a big traffic jam on their road to success!

As always, Sasaki and his pet bird (and otherworld sage) Peeps continue to leap across worlds, trading goods for a profit. Thanks to a little help from Futarishizuka, they've found a way to exchange otherworld valuables for modern currency, and Sasaki has been studying up on magic, making him unstoppable against psychics and magical girls. All that's left is to make as much money as they can, retire, and start relaxing-but that won't be so easy. In Peeps' world, the dispute over succession begins in earnest, and back home, the psychic battles never stop. Not to mention Sasaki's neighbor, who is caught up in an angels-vs-demons death game. As worlds collide, Sasaki's in for even more chaos!

Thanks to Peeps getting a little lost in the sauce, the existence of the base that Futarishizuka established is leaked online! Without a way to point the finger at anyone in particular, the situation quickly erupts into chaos. Meanwhile, Sasaki gets a new assignment. And this time it's...dealing with a giant monster in the Pacific Ocean?!

Life in Japan is hectic as always for Sasaki. Their apartment now in ruins, his neighbor moves into the Karuizawa base, Hoshizaki winds up at the center of an irregular psychic plot, and Futarishizuka dresses up as a student! Meanwhile in the otherworld, the succession dispute takes a drastic turn as Prince Lewis launches an offensive against the Ohgen Empire. When Sasaki hears the dire contents of his plan, he and Peeps decide to infiltrate enemy territory to save Hertz. Just when will it be time to relax?

With the Herzian succession dispute now settled, Sasaki and Peeps head back to modern Japan just in time for a new case at the bureau. Along with Futarishizuka and Hoshizaki, Sasaki is tasked with investigating a series of recent UFO sightings, and for once the issue seems to have nothing to do with the otherworld. Exhausted from their recent ordeals and with no clues, the crew decide to take it slow, only to stumble upon something big...Could there be yet another powerful faction in their midst?

The alien behind the recent UFO sightings, whom Sasaki has nicknamed Type Twelve, insists that the others act as her family to teach her the value of human culture. Futarishizuka and Sasaki, however, just want her to go home. It may look like they're only playing house, but the fight for humanity's future rages on. At the same time, a suspicious website announces that the proxy war's next game will be held on an isolated island. Don't be fooled-things may sound like a slice-of-life, but this middle-aged man and his pet java sparrow can't take it easy yet!

Thanks to Sasaki and the others' successful stint playing family, Type Twelve is beginning to take a shine to humanity. But soon, she wants more-to attend the neighbor's new school! Hoping to appease the mechanical life form, Sasaki's boss has everyone infiltrate, but they're far from alone. Various other countries and organizations follow suit, and armed agents and psychics lurk around every corner, waiting for a chance to strike. Meanwhile, something fishy is going on with the magical girls... Can Sasaki and his allies keep the school from erupting into bloodshed?

After giving up on school, Type Twelve moves on to her next fixation-the internet! Her passion for online popularity quickly sparks a family-wide view count competition. But while this might sound like a fun diversion, there's more at stake than just self-esteem-whoever comes in last will have to grant one request from the winner. If he doesn't want anyone to upend his life, Sasaki will have to take this little game very seriously. Meanwhile, the neighbor makes her digital debut… as a VTuber!
