    Skywald's Scream #1, according to Al Hewetson's introduction, was in response to readers' opinions as expressed in the "Bunch of Questions" survey and was first published as a black-and-white comic magazine in August 1973. If you're brave enough take a peek, we've got "The Strange Painting Of Jay Crumb," a spoof on underground cartoonists Jay Lynch & Robert Crumb by Felipe de la Rosa; "The Comics Macabre," by Al Hewetson and Maelo Cintron featured characters based on Seduction Of The Innocent author Fredric Wertham and Comics Code Authority president Len Darvin as well as Al Hewetson, Herschel Waldman, and other Skywald staffers.

  2. Ps Artbook Scream Magazine #2

    Skywald's Scream #2 October 1973 is a black-and-white comic magazine absolutely packed full of horror and suspense. Featuring Lady Satan, this is her macabre origin issue. Within one body lived one Anne, innocent and good, and another Anne, the evil "Black Witch of Salem." Together: they were "Lady Satan," each constantly struggling with the other for complete control over their shared body created by Al Hewetson and penciled by Ricardo Villamonte. This issue also features "The Thing in the Black Dress" by Al Hewetson and penciled by Suso and "The Vampire Letters" by Al Hewetson and penciled by Emilio Bernado, one set of fearsome females! And all reproduced here completely like the original comic magazine. Don't hang around, these horrors will be gone by sunrise!

    "Blood Hunt for the Cannibal Werewolf," scripted by Ed Fedory and superbly painted by Vilanova, heralds the latest edition of Scream, the black-and-white comic magazine by Skywald! Al Hewetson, who previously worked as an assistant editor to Stan Lee, scripts even more horror and suspense with Part 3 of "Lady Satan: Satan Wants A Child," illustrated by Ricardo Villamonte. "The Skull Of The Ghoul," this time illustrated by Ferran Sostres, "The Lunatic Mummy" with Cesar Lopez, and finally continuing "The Tales of Nosferatu" with "When The Dusk Falls... So Does Death...," beautifully illustrated by Zesar. And with an adaptation of a short story from Edgar Allen Poe "The Oblong Box," illustrated by Maro Navo. Reprints Scream #4 (February 1974).

Continuing "The Autobiography of a Vampire, Chapter 2" scripted by Al Hewetson and superbly visualized by Ricardo Villamonte. Maro Nava gives us an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe short story, "The Cask of Amontillado," and Domingo Alvarez gives us his adaptations of some of the poems by Edgar Allan Poe. Plus, "The Picture of Dorian Grey" by Oscar Wilde recreated here by the brilliant Zesar. Reprints Scream #5 (April 1974).
