Asakusa wants to create "the greatest world" in anime through her imaginative images . . . but there's so much more to a world than pictures, so now the Eizouken trio has become a quartet as their newest recruit, Doumeki, sole member of Shibahama High's Sound Club, leads them on a new adventure into the wild to harvest ambient audio! And even as Kanamori tries to find a route for them through the minefield of social media, Mizusaki and Asakusa are going to have to meet the fans in person at a local convention . . .

A brand-new storyline begins-beyond the anime! After the triumphant sale of their anime at Comet-A, the Eizouken crew head to the hills to enjoy their first vacation together over the winter school break. But they just can't give their creativity a rest, and roaming the mountain resort, Asakusa meets a pack of friendly but mysterious racoon dogs who inspire a plan for her grandest science fiction epic yet-Tanuki Eldorado!

Asakusa and Mizusaki's quest to create their "greatest world" in anime (and Kanamori's quest to make it pay!) takes inspiration once again from the real mysteries that fill Shibahama's school and town, as their audio engineer Doumeki becomes obsessed with capturing the soundscapes of a ruined clock tower. Eizouken stages an exclusive screening with their rivals, the Anime Studies Club, whose faces are revealed at last, and it turns out they're very familiar faces . . .  

Beyond the anime-the Eizouken storyline continues! Eizouken returns to their very first short anime, Clutch That Machete With Strength!, planning to expand it into a full-length work! Mizusaki recalling the lessons she learned in her days as a child actress may provide one key to moving forward-but what about a creative challange they haven't tackled seriously yet, voice acting? At the audition, the wily Sakurada wows with her rainbow range... but this voice acting genius is also Shibahama High's most wanted swindler!

Beyond the anime-the Eizouken storyline continues! When Mizusaki begs Kanamori to fill in for her on a fashion shoot, Kanamori finds her campus rival in willpower, student council secretary Sowande, has been booked for the same gig! But as always, the real rivalry in Eizouken is the creative one, as Mizusaki also realizes that she's not the only talented amateur animator out there, and writer and director Asakusa ponders what it means to be able to successfully complete a work on their terms, if an outside audience doesn't understand what they were trying to say! Student screenings are one thing, but how will Clutch That Machete With Strength! fare before festival judges at an anime tournament...?

Continues the story beyond the end of the Eizouken anime!Kanamori may love making money—but no matter the price, she’s not going to sell out Eizouken’s creative vision!It was the trailer they made for Clutch That Machete With Strength! that convinced Sowande, the strong-willed secretary of the Student Council, to approve Eizouken as a campus club at Shibahama High. But Sowande has warned Eizouken all along that if they try to win an audience for their anime outside the school, they risk a collision between their creative freedom as amateur students, and the grown-up world of media and politicians.Now that clash has finally come, as the committee of TV anime pros judging their full-length version of Clutch That Machete With Strength! want its length to be just a bit shorter…meaning, they want the blood cut out of the battle scenes. If their experienced elders in the industry are trapped in a cozy image of what young people’s anime should be, what can Eizouken do to free their minds? There’s more than the three million yen in prize money at stake for Eizouken—if nevertheless they persist, they may find their club disbanded!
