When a simple hunt spirals into an occult war, Barrow and Ari must put aside their grudges—or be crushed by the cult that ends the world. From feral packs of bog-hounds to goblin gang wars, Old Man Barrow's solved plenty of problems with the swing of his axe...but when a routine troll hunt spirals into a brush with a would-be doomsday cult, he may be in more trouble than he can chop his way out of. Saddled with Ari, a sharp-tempered witch with little patience for his blood-soaked ways, Barrow is dragged into grotesque occult rituals, the jeering warbles of trash-talking songbirds, and a fight he can't win on his own...whether he admits it or not.
