Old swordmaster Beryl Gardinant has become a special instructor for the order of knights. His former disciple Serena, now a black rank adventurer, asks him to help her go on a dungeon attack. Though he has almost no dungeon-attacking experience, Beryl accepts her request. But when representatives from the adventurer's guild doubt his strength, he somehow ends up dueling Serena...?!

After losing his sword in a deadly battle against Zeno Grable, Beryl reunites with his former apprentice, Baldur, who has become a blacksmith. Baldur was asked by Serena to forge a new sword for Beryl from the felled beast's talons, and while Beryl initially declines the offer, he is moved by Baldur's enthusiasm and decides to accept the sword. Then, a pickpocket girl appears in town and targets Beryl!

Beryl and Lucy storm Twilight's hideout to find the pickpocket girl Mewi's older sister. After they crush Twilight's gang and settle the matter, Beryl heads to the pub to unwind, where he meets a knight named Spur. Although the two hit it off, it seems there might be more to Spur than it appears...?
