There, they are ensnared in the monster Byblos's book world, a limitless land which takes the form of their enemy's imagination. Able to read their minds, Byblos uses their greatest fears against them, transforming into the manifestation of their despair. Alus and Shogo awaken their powers and resist, but is there any hope of escape...?

There, Shogo comes across a mysterious man named Cid...

Still searching for the "Raise" spell to bring back his sister, Yuko, Shogo and his party arrive at the Gold Saucer, a technological marvel of a city rife with avarice. As they complete quests and gather information, they are attacked by underworld kingpin Don Leone...but could their enemy's gear hold a clue to finding the spell they need?

To bring back his younger sister, Yuko, Shogo and the others continue their search for "Raise" and head for the Gold Saucer, a commercial hub overflowing with avarice and machina. They reunite with Randolph, with whom they fought the Mist Dragon, but upon seeing him, Cid gets enraged and challenges him to a battle! What sort of grudge is Cid harboring...?

As Shogo continues to press Margai for answers, he learns that the man's daughter has been taken to the Underground Coliseum, a twisted establishment where rich patrons dine in luxury as they revel in the suffering of the unfortunate souls brought before them. But with no clues as to its whereabouts, hope is in short supply...

In his search for clues about the 'Raise' spell, Shogo has gotten himself wrapped up in a conflict that will determine the fate of the Gold Saucer! He and the others go deep into the Big Bridge to stop up its power source and put an end to Alexander's rampage, but a Guard Scorpion takes them by surprise. And that's to say nothing of the Mayor's alarming past with Don Leone…
