CATRINAS CARAVAN CONFRONTATION (2024)

CHISPA: In a sudden violent turn of events, Seattle Washington becomes plagued by flesh-eating ghouls who all have one bizarre thing in common: none of them are Mexican! Barely escaping with their lives in the gentrified suburbs, siblings Marisol and Javier barricade themselves in a local taquer a and meet a motley group of survivors. Tension builds as the number of victims and ghouls grow, while the remaining defenders plot an escape from the city.

As Catrina and the mysterious priest battle throughout the encampment, Catrina's assistant gives shelter to a couple of young kids. He tells them a story about an Indigenous brother and sister who love each other very much, until a bright but evil angel tempts the brother to turn against and kill his family for their pagan ways. But when she awakens in the underworld, his little sister convinces the God of Death to let her return to Earth to act as their emissary... and to exact revenge for the loss of her family.

Having captured Father Fausto, Catrina makes him dance to the rhythm of a conga drum as she relates another story. Benny Reyes is an aspiring percussionist overshadowed by the legacy of his deadbeat father, whose impact on the Cuban American music scene was so great he was simply known as El Ritmo-The Rhythm. When Benny inherits his father's drums, he learns that they hold a dark, hungry magic that can also make him the greatest conguero of his time… if he's willing to pay the ultimate price.
