Life sucks for Vanessa. Her mother just died and her boyfriend is cheating on her (with her own sister!). To clear her mind, Vanessa is taking the California road-trip that she's been dreaming about for years.   Her postcard-perfect drive through old growth forests quickly turns when THE BREACH hits. A bizarre anomaly in the sky plunges California into a nightmare-world populated with strange, extra-dimensional creatures. Now Vanessa, along with Dougie, an orphaned child, and Kai, a strange, fuzzball of a beast, must fight to survive if they ever hope to make it back home. But is he a friend or foe? Is he here to help her...or kill her?

It's a showdown in Garberville! Vanessa's new friend might just be an ultra-dimensional outlaw on the run, and now she's caught between him and those sent to hunt him down. If she hands him over, she'll never find out the secret of The Breach, but can she help someone who's re-sponsible for the deaths of thousands?

The origin of The Breach is revealed, and Samuel's dark, bloody past along with it. But is it too late? Can The Breach be reversed? Or is this life the new normal for Vanessa, Dougie and Kai? With a group of inter-dimensional bounty hunters hot on their heels, this new life may very well be a short one.
