ALL NEW FIREFLY (2022)

The new creative team of rising star writer David M. Booher (Canto) and artist Jordi Pérez (Queen of Bad Dreams) kickoff an all-new, shiny direction for the crew of the Serenity! Captain Kaylee leads the crew on a heist that proves too much for their moral code, but when mercenaries steal the relics anyway, it turns into a recovery mission. Meanwhile, unexpected revelations about Jayne's family and past further complicate things. But how will Jayne's past collide with the crew's desperate present, especially when it leads them to steal from... not the thieves den they had in mind...

*  Tensions rise within the Serenity crew as they debate what to do with the mysterious relics hidden within Requiem. *  But before they can refuel, a new villain arrives to threaten the crew and their enigmatic hosts. *  And despite Zoe's distrust of River and reluctance to leave Emma behind, Kaylee reminds them they have a job to do...

Following the events at the monastery, Jayne is held hostage by the mysterious and dangerous criminal known only as the Tax Collector. Mal and Kaylee try to negotiate a trade... and it goes about as well as expected from the crew of the Serenity. But they have a plan! And with a little (or a lot) of luck, they might just be able to rescue Jayne and deliver the medical supplies stolen by the Tax Collector's gang.  

The crew of the Serenity have some emotional exchanges while they ruminate on missing Shepherd Book, and regret how helpful he could have been with the Monastery, especially with the Monks mourning one of their own. After Mal leaves the monks with the means to defend themselves, a man with a crutch and a respirator shows up with a boy, revealing a shocking connection to Jayne!

As Jayne makes light of his newfound (and very unexpected!) role in life, he faces the fury of a family he's long neglected. But that might be the least of his problems! Even if he can find a way to bond with his closest family in the only way he knows how... Serenity has received a call from Requiem that could spell disaster.

The crew returns, but with only pure devastation to greet them, along with their own internal conflicts and distrust to deal with, especially as Jayne's character is obscured by a relationship to someone special. With only half the crew on the hunt for a potential target, Serenity ends up in dire straits, to the mortal peril of everyone on board...

Despite Jayne trying to recklessly play hero, the crew of the Serenity makes the best of a deadly situation, ready to solve the mystery before them. But they uncover much more than they bargained for, with a shocking connection to their newest enemy and the cargo they pursue.

Will the help of newly-trained allies be enough for Inara, Simon and Leonard to survive the Tax Collector, and the shocking reveal of an even deadlier weapon? Meanwhile, new mysteries arise with the mercenaries out in space, and Owen takes action in ways the Serenity crew couldn't possibly predict...

Jayne drifts in space, isolated but kept company by memories of his mother, the debris of the mercenaries' ship, and the terrible guilt he feels over the recent tragedy. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew are met with a surprise as they answer a distress call from Requiem, leading Mal to discover where the relics really came from...

Where did the monks find their relics, and what secret connection do they have to the Alliance? Captain Kaylee is determined to know. And what lengths will the crew of the Serenity go to to retake Requiem and defeat the Tax Collector once and for all? Even more personal for Jayne-what lengths will he go to to save his son?
