There's only one thing in this world Cid wants to be. And it's not some bland protagonist or the final boss-he has his eyes set on becoming a mastermind working in the shadows. Now that he's been reborn in another world, Cid has been hard at work, building the perfect stage to act out his long-desired role. The issue is that these imaginary adversaries and plot devises exist in this new world...and he's the only one left in the dark!

After reincarnating in a different world, Cid enjoys playing his role as an "eminence in shadow." In order to rescue the princess, who has a personality as twisted as his, he launches his assault on the secret base of the Cult of Diablos! "This prelude...is mine to perform."

Still enjoying playing the part of an eminence in shadow, Cid visits the Sacred Land where a test of strength known as the Goddess's Trial is held. However, there are some unsavory rumors going around about the acting archbishop...

The door that appeared before Cid in Lindwurm leads to a prison for memories known as the Sanctuary. As hidden truths long buried in darkness are thrust into the light, the curtain rises on a battle for the ages!

Cid's shadowbrokering fun is interrupted when his sister Claire drags him off to the Lawless City to hunt some vampire called the "Blood Queen" or something. To fit in with this hard-boiled town, he decides to give his background character persona a break to try out a new role-a man of mystery who laughs in the face of danger! However, the legendary Red Moon that rises over Cid's carefree head might be more than just an ill omen...

Cid is engaging in a little "fundraising" in the treasure vaults of the Crimson Tower to finance his future shadowbroker activities when he senses the presence of an upcoming boss battle. The newly resurrected Blood Queen is hosting a grisly banquet, and Cid's determined to be first on the guest list!!?

Mitsugoshi's new inventions have put them in the sights of entrenched business interests, and the competition is turning violent. Faced with a quagmire of shady underworld schemes, Cid has just the answer-destroy both sides and rebuild from a clean slate! Sure, it might mean betraying the girls of Shadow Garden just a little, but won't it be cool when they realize he was doing it for their sake all along?

To save Mitsugoshi from being crushed in a power struggle, Cid abandons the name of Shadow and takes up the mantle of Super Elite Agent John Smith. Weaving a web of betrayal from the threads of chaos laid throughout the market, he finally succeed in entangling the mastermind, but will things ever be the same between him and the Shadow Garden...?!

Upon arriving at the Oriana Kingdom, Cid is broadsided by the news that Princess Rose is set to wed Duke Perv-an unexpected development that would throw a major wrench in his future shadowbroker plans! Seems like it'd be a good idea to crash the party and get the deets, but are there even bigger schemes at work behind this unholy matrimony?

After casually defeating the big demon thing that showed up at Rose's wedding, Cid had tried to make a badass exit via the collapsing portal, but...this is Japan, right? How'd he and Beta wind up back on Earth? And what the heck happened while he was away?! Judging by the ruined city, piles of corpses, wandering monsters, and mana lingering in the air, it must have been a pretty wild party!

Cid and Beta have arrived at one of the last places the aspiring shadowbroker wanted to go-his home world, Earth! (Or at least what's left of it.) After running into his former classmate Akane, Cid tries to figure out how the heck he's gonna get back to his cool isekai fantasy life, but little does he know that his dinky old planet's got some brand-new thrills…!
